Panel 1

 “Sublimely Talented” – David Finch,

He’s a Genius!” – Gaby Moreno, Emmy Nominee, Latin Grammy Winner and world renowned artist,

This guy can really play!” – Norm Harris, Norman’s Rare Guitars,

It would appear that Adrian Whyte’s biggest achievements have come of his frequenting guitar stores. In March 2019, Latin Grammy award winner, Emmy nominee and a featured member of Hugh Laurie’s Copper bottom band Gaby Moreno (USA) asked Whyte to join her on stage just minutes after hearing him playing around on an old guitar at South Melbourne’s Guitar Emporium, where Whyte does demo videos for the world renowned second hand guitar store.

Despite having no time to learn the songs, after finishing an original Jazz piece in duet with Moreno, she declared to the audience that “he’s a genius!!” A huge endorsement from someone who has toured with Tracy Chapman, Punch Brothers and a host of world class musicians.

World famous guitar collector Norm Harris had a similar sentiment after Whyte wandered into the Los Angeles store in 2011, immediately asking if Whyte would be happy to appear on the videos for the store, which usually includes A list celebrities and musicians. “He plays country music like that (Australia) is the country it came from.. check this guy out, he can really play!”Spending much time on the road with the touring Sun Records show “Sun Rising, the Songs that Made Memphis” has seen him receive critical acclaim for his guitar work and singing and a reputation as an ace in the sleeve of the accomplished lineup.

Whyte has recorded several albums including his debut jazz release “Old Jazz, New School”. His youtube channel has dozens of solo arrangements and tutorials amassing over 1.5 million views to date. Should the chance arise, get to a gig and see what it is that makes his music so special.
